My Op-Ed in Toronto Star: North Korea can always count on China

"So long as China is under the leadership of the Chinese Communist party, its support for North Korea will remain unconditional.
Regardless of how much the current Chinese leadership is humiliated by the appalling behaviour of their comrades in Pyongyang, the DPRK leadership knows there is nothing they can do that will not be backed by the PRC. So Western governments, Japan and South Korea should plan their response to the DPRK accordingly."

I wonder what China's business elites and increasingly outgoing middle-class think about having North Korea as their country's major ally.
