A story in the New York Times "Views Show How North Korea Policy Spread Misery" (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/10/world/asia/10koreans.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&pagewanted=print) very convincingly reports on the appalling poverty and injustice faced by people living in North Korea. It is really time for China to end the hypocritical charade of the Six Party Talks and for China to engage enlightened elements in the DPRK military to bring an end to the Kim family regime there.
A stable and open North Korea would offer enormous opportunity for Chinese investment in reconstruction in that devastated economy. Only China has the expertise and resources to carry this out. The tragedy in the DPRK is only deteriorating. Better to act sooner than later.
